This required the mobile app, backend, book data, speech recognition and identity management to work as one integrated system. MPOWR IT supported Bookplay across software architecture, backend, app, infrastructure and release. The focus was a maintainable platform that can accommodate new content and features while running reliably on both iOS and Android. ## What MPOWR IT delivered together with Bookplay ### Backend and APIs as a reliable foundation - Design and implementation of a backend using Python Flask, uWSGI, Nginx, Traefik, PostgreSQL and Redis - Modular monolith with CQRS and event sourcing - OpenAPI v3-based REST APIs for users, content and book search - Integration of the VLB API for up-to-date book information ### Mobile app for iOS and Android - Reimplementation of the app with Flutter and Dart - New user interface and features for both platforms - Preparation of e-book content for a speech-recognition-based search algorithm ### Identity, infrastructure and delivery - Identity and access management using a customised Keycloak instance - Infrastructure as Code with Ansible and Docker for the Hetzner Cloud - CI/CD with GitHub Actions, Firebase App Distribution and Apple TestFlight - Review support for release in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store ## What this case shows Products combining a mobile app, content and speech recognition need clear system boundaries between user experience, business logic and infrastructure.
